HAWT DAWGS

Image
Y'all. Y'ALL. This next recipe is going to sound {real} weird & strange, but trust me it will change the way you cook hot dogs.  I got it off Pinterest, and it's definitely worthy of a re-pin and definitely a must try-- esp for the men in your life.  Who doesn't love beer and a good dawg?! Am I right?  Here we gooooo. You'll need: 8 hot dogs (i used to turkey to make it "healthier") 8 hot dog buns (i used wheat!!) mayo mustard chili with beans- any size can (the more the merrier) shredded cheddar cheese Preheat oven to 450.  Take a casserole dish and line it with foil.  Spray some pam up on it.  Get your hot dog buns out and lather them with mayo.  I know it sounds weird, but it bakes into the bread and tastes real yum.  Put some mustard on there if that's your thing.  Then put the hot dog franks in there.  Lay them all in the pan-- squish 'em together if you have to.  After all that's said and done,  layer the cold chili on there

Never gonna give you up....

Click me.... You've been RickRolllllll'd!!!!! If you know what that is you are prob laughing....if not, then you probably think I am the weirdest person on the planet.  That's ok though. The point is that when you want something don't give up. In this case it applies to pillow shams. YEAH, PILLOW SHAMS.  Per my previous post, we found the duvet over the weekend.  But the standard shams were sold out in the store AND online-- where it says "no longer available." Not a good sign peeps. So.... first I thought, alrighty then, maybe a monogrammed sham or navy plain sham thang.  But the blue is really hard to copy and the monogram might prove too busy for the duvet + capri pillow- which is mandatory btw.  That's when I decided I was going to get my hands dirty and do some investigatin' So I call up West Elm Austin and am all like hurrlurr you got these shams? And he was all like hold up woman.  I kid, I kid. I actually got this super super nice guy na

Our beach retreat....

We can all dream right? Well I've decided to turn our master bedroom at Miss BB into a beach-ish retreat.  Somewhere that we can relax, our dogs can hang out, and most of all somewhere we feel most comfy.  I also wanted somewhere that didn't feel too feminine.  A fun mix of color that my hubby would love too.  Then I stumbled upon this....... by Jamie Meares- my favorite {obviously}!! A;SDLFJK;ASLKDFJ;ALKSDJF;ALSKDJF;AKLSDJFA;LSDKFJ;ALSKDJF;LASKJFD;LASKJDF;LASJDFLKASJFDLKASJDF;ASKFDJ .....was basically my reaction in a nutshell.  You know when you see a picture on Pinterest or a blog or anywhere really and it just "clicks" with you.  And you just know it meshes with yo' style?  That's what happened here.  Brett loves it MINUS the bug pillur. Which, the more I look at it does actually look like a roach. I despise roaches. I WOULD RATHER FLY THAN BE CONFRONTED WITH A ROACH.  Ok, maybe not. But I loathe them. Sorry for the sidetrack.....Anywho.....I was

Dear fried chicken.  I need to know how to make you.  You sure aren't healthy, but you taste so delicious that I don't care.  This is what I told myself before I started on my fried chicken adventure.  I cheated just a little bit though.  I bought the pre-marinated chicken from Central Market.  I figured they could do a much better job at it than me so why not.  And I was right!!!  The first one I tried was "southwestern" and the second "lemon-rosemary herb" Oui. oui.  I saw some fancy chefs on "The Chew" make a fried chicken club sandwhich, so I took their technique for the chicky and used it for my dish. 1. First, put about a cup or two of vegetable oil in a big ole' skillet.  Let it heat up real good {medium-high/high heat}. 2. While it's heating, put some flour (again a cup or two) in a bowl.  In a separate bowl, put some buttermilk.  I got the smallest jug they had at HEB for like $.89 3. Dip the pre-marinated chick in the butterm

Want some pillows?

There are some exciting things happening at Miss BlueBonnet! Ever since I started this blog, one of my favorite things to do is scour the internets for pillows. They really do define a room and make it all come together. I mix and match them in my head. Pick out fun colors. Dream of everything chevron & ikat.  So.....drum roll please....I decided to start selling fabulous, fun, colorful PILLOWS ! YAYYYYYYY. My pillow company is officially called "missbluebonnet." Hopefully, we will get a separate site eventually, but until then they will be sold via this blog--West 26 Bliss. Unlike most, I will sell them with the pillow inserts IN them. None of that "pillow insert not included" business. That's just too much for me. Over the next couple of weeks, I'll unveil the different designs! I'm only going to start with 6 or 8 of them, then increase as time goes along. If you are interested in pre-ordering some OR having a custom design done, you

ANNOUNCEMENT!

In a previous post , I mentioned how much I adore Jamie Meares-- interior designer extraordinaire and owner of Furbish Studio.  If you haven't seen her new website, GO NOW .  I can't even begin to describe how much I want each and every thing. After stalking her and her work on the interwebs... .....I knew I had to take a chance and e-mail her about an e-design option.  I wanted something fresh, colorful, fun for Miss BlueBonnet's living room.  And I wanted mostly stuff from Furb Studio.  Who better to make it happen than Mrs. Furbish herself?!  I have plenty of fun ideas, but I needed a little direction on colors & patterns. Plus, this opportunity only comes along like NEVER.  After e-mailing me back, first by saying CUTE HOUSE! (made my month), she said she'd be happy to!!!! Queue ecstatic EXCITEMENT!!!  And so the journey began.  I can't reveal too much, but here is the first thing we got for the room..... I die for chevron and Brett loved it!! She&#

It's Amoreeeee.

Sidenote: #bestDisneymovieEVER. Well besides, Lion King. And Cinderella (gus-gus) .  You get the point. I would like to formally introduce you to my second recipe, courtesy of Kristen (holla!).  Before we got married, Cindy (my M-I-L) secretly compiled a list of traditional fam recipes.  Then at one of my showers she surprised me with a full COOKBOOK of them! It was so sweet & thoughtful.  I've been dying to try some & now that we are settled I can start practicing.  The first one that caught my eye was "Spaghetti Pie."  Brett don't like onyans, 'shrooms, or most green thangs (per my previous recipe), so this recipe was PERFECT.  And most importantly, it's easy. 1.  Cook 4 ounces of spaghetti. You know da drill. Boil, add in, cook for 7 minutes, drain.  Make sure you squeeze all the water out of them noodles because surprise surprise, I didn't & it made the mixture a lil more watery than I wanted. (note: 4 ounces is about 1/3 of the box. Lu
