I'M ALIVE Y'ALL
And Grandma Cindy is in town so I actually have time to sit down at my computer and remember what it's like to TYPE! I feel like that guy that shunned the internet for a year. Ok not really because I'd die without FB mobile but you get the point.
I know I have a MILLION things to discuss on here...like the first 2 months of life with Cash so far, his birth story (IT HURT LIKE HELL) ((sorry to be honest)), and what's been going on in life in general...but today is for house talk. All house talk.
We've been scouring HAR for months trying to find the perfect house. When we finally made the trek to Houston to house hunt, honestly we were shocked by how insane the market is there right now. Seriously made me want to hurl. I'm sure most of you know how it is, but things are going over asking price (no thanks), bidding wars are happening, and houses you fall in love with sell in a matter of hours. #UGH. Before we came in town we picked out our top neighborhoods-- Bellaire, Meyerland, West U, and Oak Forest. I had never really heard much about Oak Forest or seen the neighborhood in person before last weekend. I think this article sums it up perfectly. Everything in the other areas have the tiniest yards and we just can't do that with 3 dogs and a little one who needs their space for playing. As soon as we drove through Oak Forest, I knew it was the neighborhood for us. Big yards that you just don't see in the city these days. PLUS, so many fun restaurants and bars all over the place. It's like a hybrid neighborhood: we-have-a-baby-but-still-know-how-to-have-fun kind of thing. Which let's be honest, screams Brett & Ryann.
With that being said, I'd like to introduce you to our future casa:
I haven't named him/her yet, but it's only got wood framing inside which means we still have a good say in what finishes they put in. I won't have enough time to chronicle the whole process on this blog which I would've hoped, but I'll keep pics updated as much as possible!
Cash also says hi:
He turned 7 weeks old yesterday.
He is already 11 pounds and 24 inches long.
He loves clothes from babyGAP.
He hates being cold.
He has reddish brown hair and bright blue gray eyes.
He laughs and talks to the fan.
He is seriously the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life.
I could go on and on and on and on...And on.
Toodles!
xoxo,
ryann
